You must learn to adapt and reinvent yourself without giving up on your dreams.

I was born and raised in Colombia, during a time where the internal conflicts had left people without opportunities or security, where the social disparities were clearly marked. I was poor and I knew it. I became a mother at 18 and tried to form a family.  It didn't workout so well. My circumstances didn't get any easier. I had dreams that I couldn't sustain and obstacles that seemed unsurmountable.This is life, sometimes you have to play the cards that you are dealt. 

In trying to figure out myself  I made some bad choices but all along I knew I didn't have to stay where I was and so with every bad choice I learned to make better ones until one day the good choices outweighed the bad ones.

 I saw myself becoming what my circumstances said I couldn't. I became a certified massage therapist and eventually opened my business. I learned to save and use money wisely. I am now a certified massage therapist in Colombia and in the USA. I achieved a certain level of success through sacrifices and I had to do it all again when I moved to the USA. Here is the thing, wherever you are right now if you don't like it, there is a way out, not always easy, often involving sacrifices and a well planned dream. My struggles  gave me strength and resilience. I have had a wonderful life too, I have traveled, I have laughed, I have made wonderful friends and I have learned the benefits of reinventing myself every time necessary. Nothing reminds me that all I went through was worth it like looking at my beautiful daughter who is not only smart but also kind. Being able to provide her with all the opportunities I had to fight for is my reward and sharing my lessons with her, the good ones and the not so good ones gives me purpose. We can grow and learn through each others experiences and that is my hope in meeting you. I've been there and done that.
